Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder hopes ‘one idiot who had too much to drink’ hasn’t wrecked plans for Nemani Nadolo to return to AMI Stadium next season.
The Fijian international today revealed he was the subject of racial abuse while celebrating the end of the Crusaders’ Super Rugby campaign with team-mates at a Christchurch bar last night.
The Crusaders returned home yesterday after their loss in the final against the Waratahs in Sydney and held an official team function in Ferrymead.
It’s understood Nadolo, Matt Todd, Ryan Crotty, Corey Flynn and others later moved to another venue where Nadolo was abused by a member of the public, prompting him to publish the following comment on Twitter:
“After all I’ve done to contribute to tis lovely city of christchurch to be called a UN FIT CHUBBY N**** is disappointing. hurtful. [sic].”
