Our eldest grand-daughter Danielle has just arrived home for a visit from Napier in the Hawkes Bay on the east coast of the North Island. We haven’t seen her for some time. She and her partner are having their first child around November – our first great- grandson, and g-g-child for that matter. They plan to move back to the Wellington district before then.
Her rugby league playing younger brother, Pride, will be back at Christmas from Newcastle on the northern NSW coast. He has been playing NYC Grade football for the Newcastle Knights this season, after an early season transfer from the Melbourne Storm. He hasn’t been back home in NZ for a couple of years, although he has been to Auckland twice playing against the NZ Warriors NYC side for the Storm last year, and for the Knights this year. The Knights have a big game on Saturday which could give them the minor premiership and a good play-offs position. That’s another story.
Our eldest daughter, Petrina, and her two younger boys, Tangaroa and Karewa who have been living down in Christchurch for a couple of years, have planned to come back to Lower Hutt and the ‘Grove’ for Christmas. It will also be a family reunion as the rest of the family live in the Hutt Valley too.
