One of the National Party’s top spokesmen on law and order is facing an assault allegation.
Mike Sabin is a vocal member of Parliament on the issue of crime, as chair of the law and order committee.
Today’s Sunday Star-Times says an assault complaint has been made against Mr Sabin.
It says the investigation’s been moved away from Whangarei, because of his former position in the police there.
Mr Sabin can’t be reached for comment this morning. Matter pending.
If Mr Sabin was under investigation before or during the election campaign and kept quiet about it, he should resign.
