‘It was crying alone in hotels’ – our Lorde reflects on 2014

NZ Entertainment:

Lorde has looked back on the year that’s been in a new post on her Tumblr account.

The Royals hitmaker took to social media to reflect on 2014, saying: “This year was lying on my back, in a pool in rome on my lunch break.”

Titled ’14, the Tumblr post goes on to read: “It was crying alone in hotels while the sun came up.

“It was the year of people talking trash, a hundred empty compliments. It was the year of genuine love.

“It was being rushed through the night in dozens of cars, sometimes lonely, or so, so happy.”

The North Shore teenager has won numerous awards this year for her album Pure Heroine, including two Grammy Awards, two Billboard Music Awards and an MTV Video Music Award.

Lorde concluded the post by thanking her fans.

“Thankyou for this, this year of my life. I’m gonna play it on a loop in my head forever. I’ll see you on the other side.”
