John Key is facing an uphill battle for support for his flag-change proposal…

Prime Minister John Key

Prime Minister John Key is sticking to his guns to hold referenda for his flag-change proposal. The public has made it clear it does not support a flag change or the suggested designs for a new flag.

When New Zealand considers a change to a republic and new constitution, consideration will be given to a new flag and anthem. When the present Queen Elizabeth 11 dies, we as a nation will have to make a constitutional decision, accept her successor as King of New Zealand, or somebody else, or change to a republic. Only when that time comes will we have to make a decision on a new flag.
