Times have changed:
Not a homophobic attack at all:
It has been revealed today that the vandalism of an ATM designed to celebrate gay pride was not in fact homophobic, but a protesting of “pinkwashing”.
A group called ‘Queers Against Injustice’ has claimed responsibility for the vandalism of an ANZ ‘GAYTM’ on Ponsonby Rd on Thursday night, Gay NZ reports.
The psychadelic-looking ‘GAYTM’, which was coloured for the Auckland Pride Festival, was splashed with pink paint by what was assumed to be homophobic vandals.
